Part-time On-Call Shelter Staff

Openings for both evening and overnight shifts.

Requirements:

Require knowledge, understanding and experience in working with homeless persons. Ability to set limits, enforce rules, diffuse crisis situations, and use good judgment and initiative in problem solving are considered essential in performing the duties of this position. The ability to work with people of differing socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds is mandatory. Have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, to communicate, and express ideas effectively. Have flexibility and a sense of humor.

Responsibilities:

Provide awake overnight OR evening coverage for an emergency homeless shelter, as called, as needed.

Part-Time On-Call Kitchen Staff

Have the ability to follow guidelines for meal prep; to communicate effectively with volunteers; oversee sorting and placement of daily deliveries; coordinate meal service in a fast paced kitchen. Have flexibility and a sense of humor.

Responsibilities:

Provide coverage for a Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry, as called, as needed.
